About me
I grew up in Cold Lake, Alberta, and now get to raise my family in the same amazing community. I’m a proud Boy Mom to my son Beau, married to my best friend, and we have a goofy dog named Zeke. Some of my favorite things include spending time on the lake, camping, coaching volleyball, and going for walks with friends and family. I’m also a big fan of board games and card games—they bring out my competitive side and make for lots of laughs!
I’m the Vice Principal at Holy Cross Elementary in Cold Lake where we offer an English Preschool program for 3 and 4-year-olds. We also offer Kindergarten to Grade 6 in bothEnglish and French Immersion programs. I recently completed my Master of Education in Curriculum and Pedagogy at the University of Alberta, with my Capstone focused on helping students in Grades 3-6 build reading comprehension skills in ways that align with the Science of Reading. This passion grew out of my time teaching Grades 4 and 6, where I often felt lost trying to teach reading comprehension effectively. Now, I get to use those experiences and my research to support my staff and students. Alongside my leadership role, I love teaching Grade 2 Science, Religion, and PEW (Physical Education and Wellness) and helping students grow both academically and spiritually.
