About me
A rolling stone at heart, Dave’s teaching career includes experience teaching high school and International Baccalaureate Physics and Math in a variety of communities including a northern community in Saskatchewan, a rural fishing village in Nova Scotia, a metropolitan city in the Middle East and a suburban community in southern Alberta.
Dave finally settled in the Edmonton area in 2016 as an executive staff officer in the Member Services program area of the Alberta Teachers’ Association, and in 2021 Dave transitioned to Teacher Employment Services—Collective Bargaining. Conflict plays a central component of the everyday work in Teacher Employment Services. Dave is a firm believer that there exists in most conflicts a creative solution that can meet the interests of all involved and strives to implement this belief into his work.
In addition to acting as a representative of the bargaining agent, Dave acts as the parliamentarian at representative assemblies and staff advisor to the Social Studies Council.
