About me
Christien joined the Association’s Teacher Employment Services executive staff in 2022. After completing his BEd degree at the Campus St Jean, he taught in a variety of different communities and schools divisions throughout Alberta before settling down in St Albert. Christien is actively working towards a Labour Relations Certificate from Queen’s University.<br><br>Prior to joining the Association, Christien taught three years at the elementary level, then moved to the Junior and Senior High levels for the remainder of his teaching career where he mainly taught Mathematics, Physical Education and CTS courses in a francophone school. Christien invested a lot of time serving on almost every Association committee at the local level; TWC, NSC, C2, Grievance and Teacher and Board Liaison Committees to name a few. He also had the pleasure of negotiating three collective agreements and following bargaining courses.<br><br>In addition to acting as a representative of the bargaining agent, Christien acts as the staff advisor for le Conseil français.
