Let your students cheat on exams!
Thursday February 13, 2025 11:45am - 12:45pm MST
Students have access to a stunning wealth of technological resources, including the internet, advanced photo-driven calculators, and generative artificial intelligence. The education we offer risks becoming irrelevant if we do not embrace these technologies in our courses…including on assessments. In this presentation, I argue that our students ought to have access to *all* tools at their disposal at all times, especially while writing exams. Taking this as a starting point, we will re-imagine the potential for meaningful assessments in a society rich with ambient technology.

Morph+o+log+y Instruction in Div II and Div III
Thursday February 13, 2025 2:15pm - 3:15pm MST
Morphology is explicitly mentioned in the new ELAL 4-6 curriculum and concepts related to morphology can be found in both the Vocabulary and Conventions organizing ideas -- but how do we teach this to students in a meaningful way? Word exploration can easily be added to literacy lessons or texts that you have already planned to use. This session will explore classroom routines that teachers can use immediately in their classroom. Resources will be shared as well.
